A Cinematic Escape

In the outskirts of Chiang Khan old town in northeast Thailand lie some magical places: Khaeng Kood Ku, where the Mekong River turns around the curves of Laos on fog-filled mornings; Tai Dam weaving village, where ethnic Chinese keep their weaving traditions alive; and Wat Phu Chang Noi, where a giant hilltop Buddha turns its back to the sunset.
