For Holy Week, I am revisiting the Holy Land (in pictures) sacred to the Abrahamic faiths, or the People of the Book: Jews, Christians and Muslims. These photos, taken in February 2013, show the variety of styles of churches, each relevant to a particular point in the life of Jesus Christ.
This set includes the Church of Dormition, Church of St Peter in Gallicantu, Abu Gosh (Emmaus), Church of Transfiguration on Mt Tabor, Benedictine Church of the Multiplication and the Church of St Peter’s Primacy (both in Tabgha), St Peter’s Church in Capernaum, Church of Beatitudes on Mount of Beatitudes, and the Church of the Visitation and Church of St John Ba Harim (both in Ein Karem).
I left out several of the “most important ones” because there are too many photos for one post. For another Holy Week, I suppose.
